Intrauterine Insemination is a technique that includes the placement of viable sperm directly into the woman’s uterine cavity while she is ovulating. This procedure is performed when there are abnormalities in the sperm-like low sperm count, low motility etc. The goal of this fertility treatment is to increase the count of sperms in a male that would reach the fallopian tube in a woman and subsequently result in an increased chance of conception or fertilisation.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

ICSI stands for Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection is a specialised form of In-Vitro Fertilisation which is primarily used for treating several severe male-factor infertility cases. In this procedure, a single, viable sperm is chosen and is injected directly into a mature egg.

Gynaecological Problems

Gynaecological problems, diseases, or infections affect the reproductive organs such as uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, external genitalia and breasts of a woman, and thus it may also affect sexual functions of her body.

Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy is one of the diagnostic procedures or surgical treatment which is performed for examining the organs inside the abdomen. It is also termed as diagnostic laparoscopy. In this procedure, an instrument called a laparoscope is used that has a light and a camera on it. The light and the camera on the instrument enable the doctor to see and observe your abdominal organs easily. This procedure is typically used for identifying and diagnosing the actual cause of pain in the abdomen or pelvis or miscarriage. The doctors mostly recommend this procedure to examine the inner organs, including the liver, appendix, gallbladder, stomach, spleen, colon, pancreas, and the reproductive organs. Some of the reasons for diagnostic laparoscopy include unexplained infertility, unexplained Pelvic Pain, and any pelvic infection in medical history.

In Vitro Fertilization

In-Vitro Fertilisation is a type of technology for reproduction. This procedure involves freezing of an egg outside the body, in a laboratory dish. After freezing, the egg is implanted into a woman’s uterus to help her conceive. With IVF, there are chances for multiple births. This technology is also known as Oocyte Cryopreservation or Egg Freezing. This procedure is also called Ovarian Tissue Bank. The technique used for Cryopreservation is mainly termed as ” Vitrification”.

Infertility Evaluation

If a couple is unable to conceive a baby after one year of regular and unprotected sexual intercourse, it can be considered as an infertility evaluation. A standard evaluation of fertility includes various exams including medical and physical, sexual histories of both partners and other tests like semen analysis etc.
